Denver is an intellectual property lawyer with a focus on patent law. Drawing on his engineering training, Denver advises clients on many aspects of patent law, including patentability, patent drafting, patent prosecution, validity, and infringement. In addition to helping clients with drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications, Denver advises on the acquisition and exploitation of intellectual property in related transactions, as well as intellectual property licensing and assignment.
Denver is a registered patent agent in Canada and the United States.
During his last year at Osgoode, Denver spent a semester as a visiting student researcher at Stanford University where he studied the patentability of inventions created by artificial intelligence and the effectiveness of tech transfer within Universities. While at Osgoode, Denver was the Co-President of the Intellectual Property Society, received the Best Blog in IP Law and Technology Prize, and placed second and third in consecutive years at the International Patent Drafting Competition. For three years after graduation, Denver coached the Osgoode Patent Drafting Team.
