Partner and co-head of Torys’ Indigenous practice Valerie Helbronner will speak at the PDAC 2026 Convention taking place March 1-4 in Toronto. The convention brings together industry professionals, investors, government representatives, and Indigenous organizations from around the world for knowledge sharing, professional development, and engagement across all areas of the mining sector. It explores topics such as mineral exploration trends, sustainability and ESG, Indigenous partnerships, capital markets, financing, technology and innovation, and developments across the mining lifecycle.
Valeire will speak on the panel “Financial innovations for equity partnerships: Federal and provincial loan guarantees as a catalyst for Indigenous-led development and Canada’s trade future” on March 3 at 11:45 a.m. The panel will discuss how Indigenous equity partnerships are structured in the mining sector, highlighting practical models, financial tools and governance approaches shaping these evolving investment relationships.
