Partner and co-chair of Torys’ Competition and Foreign Investment Review practice Dany Assaf will speak at the Canadian Bar Association Competition Law Fall Conference taking place November 20-21 in Ottawa. The conference will explore major recent reforms to Canada’s competition and foreign investment laws and consider whether the new framework is equipped to address today’s global economic challenges.
Dany will speak on the panel “The Enforcer Emeritus Club” on November 21 at 10:45 a.m. This panel will examine how Canadian competition policy will address emerging issues such as AI, algorithms, structural merger presumptions, and sector priorities, while considering whether enforcement should shift away the consumer welfare standard.
