Senior associate Shalom Cumbo-Steinmetz and associate Mavra Choudhry will speak at the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) Privacy Law Summit on October 15 in Toronto. The summit will explore timely insights and practical strategies to help professionals navigate a wide range of privacy law issues, including evolving regulations, AI, biometrics, and M&A.
Mavra will speak on the panel “Genetic Privacy: Your DNA, Their Data” at 2:20 p.m. The panel will discuss the evolving legal landscape of genetic data privacy in the U.S. and U.K., with insights from the 23andMe case on data ownership, consent, client advisory, and implications for research, law enforcement, and border security.
Shalom will speak on the panel “Case Law and Legislative Updates You Need to Know” at 3:30 p.m. The panel will explore updates on recent case laws, legislative changes, and emerging legal trends in privacy law.
