Partner Tyson Dyck will present at the 13th Annual Energy and Mines Summit in Toronto on November 12 and 13. Under the theme “The Decarbonized Mind”, the event will explore the latest developments and solutions for addressing the challenges and complexities of the energy transition.

Tyson will present during three sessions on the second day of the conference:

  • Mitigating Legal Business Risks and Exploring Clean Fuels Regulation Opportunities
    November 13 at 2:05 p.m.

In this presentation, Tyson will share practical insights around mitigating legal and business risks when entering carbon markets; explore forms of agreements for trading in carbon credits; and reflect on best practices for acquiring RECs and other environmental attributes through corporate PPAs.

  • Carbon Market Best Practices for Mines with Q&A
    November 13 at 1:30 p.m.

In this workshop, Tyson and fellow speakers will offer insight into how mines and other emissions-intensive industries are meeting their carbon compliance requirements and leveraging opportunities to support decarbonization goals.

  • The Carbon Offset Debate
    November 13 at 3:20 p.m.

This discussion will explore the benefits and drawbacks of using carbon offsets in mining decarbonization; share examples of successful carbon offset projects; and explore the policies that should be in place to ensure the integrity of carbon offsets used by mining companies.
