New York Partner Darien Leung will co-chair the International Bar Association's 10th annual World Women Lawyers' Conference, being held in Toronto from October 23 to 25. Featuring presentations from Toronto partner Amanda Balasubramanian and Director of Innovation Dustin Paterson, the conference will explore legal trends, developments and hot topics and give women lawyers from around the world the opportunity to engage, network and share knowledge.

Dustin will participate in a panel discussion on the first day of the conference at 11:00 a.m. under the theme, “Impact of AI tools and legal technology on the practice of law”. With insights from diverse lawyers and practitioners from across the AI sector, the session will explore how AI is reshaping legal practices, enhancing efficiency and redefining the landscape of legal services.

Amanda will later lead one of 10 “Hot topics roundtables” on October 24 at 3:45 p.m., which will discuss topics ranging from project finance, to cross-border litigation, to social responsibility. Amanda’s roundtable discussion will explore the rise of private debt.

Finally, Darien will share the opening remarks at 8:30 a.m. on the final day of the conference, reflecting on the importance of continuing to drive meaningful change for women in the legal profession.
