Stablecoins vs CBDCs

A part of the “What you need to know about stablecoins” series

Speakers

In this series, we address what stablecoins are, the arguments for and against them, and why they are growing in popularity. We also delve into how Canada regulates these crypto assets, and what the future legal and business landscape may look like.

Stablecoins vs CBDCs

CBDCs are central bank-issued digital legal tender: allowing them to meet the growing demand and need for accessible and transferable CBDC while mitigating risks presented by cryptocurrencies. However, a debate remains on how CBDCs and stablecoins can coexist, and how financial institutions can best navigate the future of currency and money.

Join our panel of speakers as they discuss how CBDCs and stablecoins fit within the banking and monetary system and the benefits and opportunities they present.

This session will be presented in English.
