IFLR1000 names three Torys lawyers in the 2022 Women Leaders list

We are thrilled to announce that partners Amanda Balasubramanian, Karrin Powys-Lybbe and Rima Ramchandani have once again been recognized as IFLR1000 Women Leaders for their outstanding work in their respective fields.

This is the third consecutive year that Karrin has received this prestigious recognition, while Amanda and Rima join the ranks for the second year in a row.

Recognized across Canada as a leading lawyer, co-head of Torys’ Banking and Debt Finance practice Amanda focuses on commercial banking and debt financings. She is a trusted advisor to lenders, sponsors and borrowers in complex domestic, international and global transactions. Additionally, fund clients and lenders rely greatly on her experience in designing fund finance products, including subscription facilities, NAV facilities and co-investment programs.

As co-head of our M&A practice, Karrin focuses on mergers and acquisitions, securities law, corporate finance and corporate governance. The former managing partner of Torys' New York office and a former member of Torys’ Executive Committee, Karrin advises on some of the most sophisticated and high-profile M&A and securities transactions in Canada. 

Rima is co-head of Torys’ Capital Markets practice and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. She has built a strong reputation for practical, client-focused counsel which is informed by her extensive corporate and capital markets experience. Rima advises clients on a wide variety of strategic mandates, including financings, M&A and corporate governance. She has been repeatedly recognized for her work in the capital markets across many legal directories.
