Peter Danner and Molly Reynolds named as 2020 Lexpert Rising Stars

We are delighted to announce that Calgary partner Peter Danner and Toronto counsel Molly Reynolds have been named in the 2020 Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 list.

The Lexpert Rising Stars Awards pay homage to leading young lawyers from law firms, in-house departments, government and academia who have made remarkable contributions in their careers.
  

Peter’s corporate/commercial practice focuses on both private and public M&A transactions, energy and mining transactions, and upstream and midstream/downstream transactions. He is widely recognized by clients and peers for his intelligent, efficient and effective client representation.

Peter has worked on some of the most complex deals for the firm and has advised companies and institutional investors on a wide variety of complex transactions, involving domestic and international projects at all stages of the project development lifecycle. His counsel is highly sought after by clients who praise him for his ability to navigate through intricate legal arrangements, particularly in the commercial and M&A area.

Peter frequently donates to causes that he deeply cares about, including the Humane Society, the Prostate Cancer Centre in Calgary and other men’s health organizations.
  

Molly is both a litigator and an advisor on data breaches, compliance matters and major transactions. Molly created and leads Torys’ Privacy and Cybersecurity practice group and has been committed to growing the depth and diversity of the practice since early in her career.

In her role, she anticipates regulatory, reputational and litigation risks when advising clients on proactive privacy and cybersecurity initiatives. Molly has advised Parliament, leads the development of legal remedies for victims of cyber abuse in Canada, and acts on class actions involving novel privacy issues.

Additionally, Molly is committed to tackling injustice in the legal profession and justice system. She has provided pro bono legal counsel to victims of cyber abuse and refugees who were denied status, and she is an advocate for LGBTQ2S+ rights and visibility in the legal community.
