Torys named Capital Markets Firm of the Year at IFLR Americas Awards

Torys is proud to be named Capital Markets Firm of the Year for Canada at the 15th annual IFLR Americas Awards. The awards recognize the most innovative cross-border legal deals and the firms that completed them.

Torys also received recognition in three other categories:

• Private Equity Deal of the Year for our work with Brookfield Infrastructure and other institutional investors to acquire Genesee & Wyoming in a US$8.4 billion transaction.
• High Yield Deal of the Year for our work in connection with the high-yield offering that was part of the complex committed financing package for Brookfield Business Partners Solution’s purchase of Johnson Controls Power. Torys acted as Canadian counsel providing transaction structuring, lending and securities law advice.
• Project Finance Deal of the Year for our work with Orion Mine Finance, as Canadian counsel, in its US$400-$450 million project financing with Blackstone Tactical Opportunities for the development of Lundin Gold Inc.’s Fruta del Norte gold project in Ecuador.
