Eileen McMahon on the "Massive Social Experiment" That is Cannabis Legalization

Partner Eileen McMahon was featured in a documentary regarding the legalization of cannabis, saying she has “never seen a boom like this in my career of 35 years.”

Eileen was a part of the first episode of The Cannabis Complex, a series exploring the industry as it straddles prohibition and legalization.

“There was a tech boom, but I think cannabis absolutely surpasses that,” Eileen said.

Eileen explains some of the background on licenced producers in the context of cannabis.

“A licenced producer is no different than any other company that requires a federal license in order to conduct business,” she said.

“So for example, in the pharmaceutical sector by way of comparison, you can’t sell a prescription drug in Canada without a licence for that drug.

“In the cannabis sector, you can’t sell cannabis to medical patients for medical use unless you have a licence.”
