PE Pulse picked up by Canadian Lawyer

March 12, 2020

Torys’ inaugural private equity sentiment survey, PE Pulse, has been referenced in a piece by Canadian Lawyer on deal values in 2019.

The article discusses Canada’s total capital investment in the industry and how it spiked higher in 2019 than the previous two years.

Canadian Lawyer references the report in search of a reason for the spike in value. PE Pulse attributes it to factors such as “the growth of fund sizes, the pressure asserted by limited partners to offer co-investment opportunities and the necessity for bigger transactions to compete with public market valuations.”

PE Pulse is the first survey of its kind in the Canadian market and took the opinions and market sentiments of more than 100 private equity and pension fund players in Canada.
