National Institute on Ageing at Ryerson University

Partner and Chair of Torys’ Pensions and Employment Practice Mitch Frazer is one of the driving forces behind Ryerson University’s National Institute on Ageing (NIA), a new multi-disciplinary initiative launched in February 2016. The NIA will focus on research, innovation and education to address issues central to the welfare of Canada’s ageing population such as pensions and health. Mitch founded the NIA and is co-chair of the advisory board; he says, “we saw an opportunity and need to consider successful aging from both the financial and health sides of the aging equation, and it is that need that led to the creation of this institute.” This initiative deepens Mitch’s collaboration with the public sphere, which includes founding the Pension Innovation and Research Centre at Ryerson University. Mitch also serves on Ryerson University’s Board of Governors.
