Partner and head of our Calgary office Ron Deyholos was sought by The Lawyer for a panel discussion on how Canadian law firms are adapting to the prevailing economic climate. Ron discusses a number of areas including energy sector forces and mergers within the legal industry. Below is an excerpt of his comments from the article:
The legal market seems to be much more competitive than it was a few years ago. Strong and capable in-house legal departments have affected the amount of work going to firms. Given the level of competitiveness for less legal work, I think we may well see further consolidation, particularly with firms that think they need to do something to either increase or even maintain their market position.
