Torys Advises on Top Infrastructure Deal in 2014

We are pleased to announce that the firm advised on the top infrastructure deal (by value) in the EMEA region in 2014 according to InfraDeals’ year-end report. Torys represented Borealis Infrastructure in the acquisition of Fortum Distribution Finland. Borealis was part of a global consortium of infrastructure investors who bought Fortum, a leading electricity distribution company, for €2.55 billion.

Torys also advised on three of Canada’s Top 10 deals: K2 WindKingston Solar and Armow Wind, according to InfraDeals.  The firm also ranked 2nd among Canadian firms for financial and legal advisory by both value and deal count.

InfraDeals compiles its rankings based on data received from “banks, financial, legal and technical advisors and research conducted by InfraDeals’ global data research.” Project work in InfraDeals’ league tables includes “the project financing of greenfield and brownfield projects, the expansion of existing assets, the refinancing of existing project finance debt and the financing of acquisitions globally across the following sectors: environment, including waste, wastewater and water treatment facilities; power; renewables; social Infrastructure; telecommunications; and transport.”
