Torys ranks first among Canada’s top corporate finance legal advisers in 2012

Bloomberg and Financial Post Dealmakers' 2012 first quarter corporate finance league tables rank Torys as among the top law firms in the world to advise on corporate finance transactions. Torys is the only Canadian firm to receive four 1st place rankings on Bloomberg’s 2012 first quarter league table.

  • In the category of advising managers of Canadian equity and equity-linked offerings, Torys ranked 1st, with 11 transactions valued at US$2.489 billion.
  • In the category of advising managers of Canadian equity offerings, Torys ranked 1st, with 8 transactions valued at US$2.287 billion.
  • In the category of advising managers of Canadian common equity, income trust, convertible and preferred offerings, Torys ranked 1st, with 12 transactions valued at US$2.589 billion.
  • In the category of Canadian Corporates advising the issuer, Torys ranked 1st, with 6 transactions valued at US$2.596 billion.

  • In the category of advising underwriters of Canadian equity offerings, Torys ranked 1st, with 11 transactions valued at C$2.438 billion.
  • In the category of advising issuers of Canadian debt offerings, Torys ranked 3rd, with 5 transactions valued at C$2.420 billion.
  • In the category of advising issuers of Canadian debt and equity offerings combined, Torys ranked 3rd, with 9 transactions valued at C$3.283 billion.
