Chambers Global 2011 recognizes four of Torys' lawyers as among Canada's top P3 and infrastructure practitioners

March 21, 2011

Torys' infrastructure and energy practice received a "well-deserved standing" by Chambers Global 2011. The practice "combines its expertise in both disciplines to offer clients an integrated approach to project development and construction."

In addition to a large number of mandates in the energy sector, the team acted for Windsor Essex Mobility Group on its bid for Windsor-Essex Parkway, the largest highway investment project in Ontario's history. Other notable users include Bilfinger-Berger Project Investments, for whom Torys has acted on several projects, including Toronto's Women's College Hospital.

  • Mark Bain heads the P3 practice, and co-heads the infrastructure and energy practice. He is actively involved as counsel to Bilfinger-Berger, Windsor Essex Mobility Group and Infrastructure Ontario.
  • Krista Hill is "the complete package," with "an excellent reputation for her work on energy projects, including nuclear development and wind energy."
  • Jonathan Weisz heads the project finance practice group and advises high-profile energy companies, including Ontario Power Generation and Renewable Energy Systems Canada.
  • Tara Mackay is commended for her knowledge of the market. Peers agree she is "fantastic" and "very promising."
