On October 8, Torys was pleased to welcome special guests from Free The Children to our Toronto office. Wilson and Jackson, two Maasai warriors who work as guides for Free The Children in Kenya, and Roxanne Joyal, one of the founding members of Free The Children, spoke to members of Torys' staff.
Roxanne spoke about Free The Children's partnerships with communities abroad and projects designed to motivate young people in North America to become socially engaged.
Wilson and Jackson, who are making their first trip outside of Africa, talked about life in Kenya and described some of their work with Free The Children. Attendees appreciated learning more about the remarkable work of the organization, and meeting these inspiring representatives.
Torys has a longstanding pro bono relationship with Free The Children, a charity founded by Canadian children's rights activists Craig and Marc Kielburger. The charity is the world's largest network of children helping children, working to free children from poverty and exploitation, and from the notion that they are powerless to affect positive change in the world.
