May 12, 2010

In its inaugural publication of the world's 250 leaders in life sciences patent litigation, Intellectual Asset Management names three of Torys' lawyers:

  • Andrew Shaughnessy, the "most visible at Torys," is "deeply knowledgeable and wins praise for his client-focused approach and thorough preparation."
  • John Laskin "maintains a broad business litigation practice, with a focus on IP. Clients commend his superior advocacy skills."
  • Andrew Bernstein is an "up-and-comer, singled out for his nuanced knowledge of patent law. Interviewees agree he is incredibly clever."

The 250 individuals identified by IAM's research team received substantial feedback from private practitioners and their users in more than 20 key jurisdictions. The top-class lawyers were reported to combine an in-depth knowledge of the legal process with an understanding of their clients' businesses to develop strategies for fighting cases that leave their clients in the best position possible.
