Torys tops the Q2 Canadian M&A charts

Torys ranked among the top six firms for announced and closed Canadian M&A in the Q1–Q2 period of 2007, according to Thomson Financial.

Torys is representing some of the world's M&A powerhouses on 33 deals valued at US$46.8 billion. The total value of Canadian M&A announced in Q1–Q2 2007 was US$185.4 billion, more than two times the US$77.8 billion of deals announced in Q1–Q2 2006. Thomson Financial also ranked Torys among the top 20 firms in Q1–Q2 2007 for announced and closed M&A transactions in the Asia-Pacific region.

Bloomberg's Q1–Q2 global M&A rankings put Torys among the top five firms for announced Canadian M&A deals, and among the top seven firms for announced Canadian M&A based on volume.

Torys also placed among the top 20 firms globally in the Q1–Q2 period for announced M&A transactions in the Asia-Pacific region.
