Rebecca worked as a law student caseworker at Parkdale Community Legal Services (Social Assistance, Violence and Health Division), where she represented clients seeking income support entitlements at the Social Benefits Tribunal.

In law school, she was awarded the Honourable William G.C. Howland Award of Excellence and the Honourable Peter de Carteret Cory Award for academic excellence. Rebecca was also recognized as a Frozen Open Moot and Cassels Brock Cup finalist. She volunteered with the Urban Alliance on Race Relations (Pro-Bono Students Canada), where she helped develop Community Legal Education materials. In addition, Rebecca was a representative on Student Caucus and acted as an Equity Advisor to the Black Law Students’ Association.

As an articling student, Rebecca provided the Black Legal Action Centre with pro bono legal research on issues related to social media advocacy and the school-to-prison pipeline.

Rebecca currently volunteers with the Movement Defence Committee as a legal observer and the Sentencing and Parole Project as a peer reviewer.
