Molly Reynolds described as “go-to expert” by Precedent Setter Awards
Toronto-based privacy lawyer Molly Reynolds has been awarded a 2019 Precedent Setter award.
The decade-old awards are run by Precedent magazine, which recognises “six outstanding lawyers who, in their first 10 years of practice, have produced sterling legal work and made significant contributions to the community.”
Molly was lauded by the magazine, which dubbed her “the go-to expert on privacy law” at Torys and detailed some of her experience that helped shape her career as a lawyer.
It mentions how Molly worked closely with her colleague Sheila Block in 2010 on a significant internet-privacy case. Working with Sheila on that case influenced Molly enough for her to shift her practice from commercial litigation and build a digital-privacy practice.
Her leadership is also displayed at the firm in her mentorship of junior lawyers.
“I want students and young lawyers to feel like they have an ally,” Molly said.
“Sometimes, that just means listening.”
