Dempster Fibre Project
Torys acted as counsel to the Government of Yukon as the public authority for the C$79 million Dempster Fibre PPP project to design, build, operate and maintain a new 777 km fibre optic communication system connecting Dawson City, Yukon to the existing Mackenzie Valley Fibre Link in Inuvik, Northwest Territories.
When connected to the existing Mackenzie Valley Fibre Link, the project will become part of a continuous 4,000 km long fibre loop providing more stable internet for a larger percentage of Yukon's population, as well as neighbouring communities in Northwest Territories, Nunavut and northern British Columbia.
