Mattamy finalizes purchase of Monarch

On January 28, 2015, Mattamy Group Corporation (Mattamy) closed its agreement to purchase Monarch Corporation (Monarch), the Canadian division of US homebuilder Taylor Morrison Home Corporation, for a net cash purchase price of C$335 million. The deal closed following the satisfaction of closing conditions, including clearance by the Canadian Competition Bureau.
Mattamy Homes, founded by Peter Gilgan, is the largest privately owned new home builder in North America, with operations across Canada and the United States.
Monarch is the Canadian division of US homebuilder Taylor Morrison Home Corporation.
