Grant is a partner in Torys’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice. His civil litigation practice is broad, with an emphasis on class actions, product liability, procurement disputes, administrative law and intellectual property disputes. A significant portion of Grant’s practice involves representing life sciences clients in complex product liability and commercial proceedings. Grant acts as both trial and appellate counsel, and has appeared as counsel before the courts in Ontario, Québec, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia as well as the Federal Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal.
Grant also represents renewable energy developers in REA appeal hearings relating to large-scale wind projects before the Ontario Environmental Review Tribunal.

In the community, Grant volunteers as an advocacy adviser for Ryerson University’s Law Practice Program, and as a Director on the Board of Directors of the Greater Toronto Hockey league (GTHL). Grant previously served on the Board of Directors of the Leaside Hockey Association for six years, including three as President.
Professionally, Grant is a member of the International Association of Defence Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, the American Bar Association Intellectual Property Section and the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada. He is also a Skills Instructor for The Advocates’ Society and was the Past-President of the Lawyers’ Club.
