Marissa’s practice focuses on corporate/commercial law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. She has experience with both public and private M&A transactions.
Marissa is a member of the Payments & Cards group and has advised clients on regulatory compliance in the financial services and payments industry, with an emphasis on consumer protection.
Marissa is the co-chair of Women in Law@Torys.
During law school, Marissa worked for CIBC in their legal department and as a summer associate at a New York law firm. Marissa also served as a senior editor and the co-chair of recruitment for the Osgoode Hall Law Journal.
Marissa co-leads women’s initiatives at Torys. Marissa has been involved in leading several charitable initiatives at Torys, including the Give a Day campaign in support of AIDS research, and food drives for the Daily Bread Food Bank and Fort York Food Bank. She has also acted as a mentor with the Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) program, a high school program that uses legal education as a tool to assist students to succeed in school and become engaged and active citizens.
