This series will provide a general overview of the regulatory regime applicable to banks and insurance companies, with a more detailed discussion of selected topics, and will equip participants with a comprehensive overview of the essentials of banking and insurance law.

This series continues with a panel of Torys’ financial services lawyers discussing the upcoming 2025 review of the Bank Act (Canada), Insurance Companies Act (Canada), and Trust and Loan Companies Act (Canada) and, in particular, a variety of provisions which we believe should be revisited and potentially updated when that review gets underway.
