Cheryl Reicin on the Advancement of Gender Equality in the Workplace

On November 24 Cheryl Reicin was recognized by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women in 2016. The award recognizes women whose leadership contributes to advancing the professional and societal landscape for future generations.

Through her professional and charitable work, Cheryl has made a significant impact on women in the legal industry. In Legal Feeds, Cheryl shares her insight on advancing gender equality in the workplace, she explains that women in the law would benefit from “Starbucks-style customized careers that allow one to power up and power down, guilt-free.” Furthermore she shares her approach to being vocal in the workplace, see below:

“I like to ask lots of questions to get others to see an issue in a different way. I generally only speak in meetings when my view is not the majority view — why espouse a view that is already accepted?”
