Travers Solar Project
Torys acted as counsel to the lenders in connection with the project financing for the 465 MW Travers Solar Project in southern Alberta, owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.
Spread across 3,330 acres of privately owned cultivated and grazing land in Vulcan County, eight km southwest of the Village of Lomond, the project will consist of approximately 1.3 million monocrystalline bifacial solar panels and generate enough electricity to support the needs of 100,000 homes.
Construction on the project began in June 2021 and became fully operational in the fourth quarter of 2022. It is supported by a long-term corporate purchase power agreement with Amazon.com Inc. for up to 400 MW of power from the project.
