Fredericton-Moncton Highway
Torys acted as counsel to CIBC Capital Partners, RBC Dominion Securities, Merrill Lynch, TD Securities and the syndicate of underwriters in the C$540 million project financing of the Fredericton-Moncton Highway PPP project to design, build, finance, operate and maintain a 195 km 4-lane toll highway between Fredericton and Moncton in New Brunswick.
The project, which has a 30-year concession term, was New Brunswick's first public-private partnership highway project and, at the time, was also the largest highway construction project in New Brunswick's history.
Stretching from Longs Creek to Magnetic Hill, the highway includes 21 interchanges with four high-speed interchanges, and 89 structures with two high-level river crossings spanning the Saint John and Jemseg Rivers.
The road opened to traffic in October 2001.
