Waterloo Light Rail Transit—Stage 1
Torys acted as counsel to Kitchener Waterloo Cambridge Transit Partners (Gracorp Capital/Fluor Canada/Parsons Canada) as a shortlisted proponent for the Region of Waterloo's Light Rail Transit System PPP project to design, build, finance, operate and maintain a 19 km light rail transit system from Conestoga Mall in Waterloo, Ontario to Fairview Park Mall in Kitchener, Ontario.
In addition to 19 km of track, Stage 1 of the project included
- 16 stations
- 14 tram sets
- 13 traction power substations
- an operations and maintenance storage facility
Torys acted as counsel with a team that included Mark Bain, Tara Mackay, Daniel Ford, Blair McKechnie and Graeme Murray.
