Adelaide Wind Energy Centre
Torys acted as counsel to NextEra Energy Canada in the development and construction of its 60 MW Adelaide Wind Energy Centre in southwestern Ontario, including the renewable energy approval (REA) application, the related permitting and approval processes, as well as land and municipal road approvals.
Located in Middlesex County, Ontario, the wind farm consists of 37 GE Energy 1.6-100 turbines capable of generating enough electricity to power more than 15,000 homes.

Torys also acted on the following in connection with this project:
- NextEra Energy Canada in its application to the Ontario Energy Board for leave to construct a 115 kV transmission line (totaling 15.7 km) to connect the 150 MW Jericho Wind Energy Centre with the IESO-controlled grid (EB-2013-0361), as well as licensing, interconnection and municipal road approvals
- Connor, Clark & Lunn Infrastructure in its acquisition of a 49% interest in a 235 MW portfolio of three operating wind projects in southwestern Ontario—Adelaide Wind, Bornish Wind and Goshen Wind—from NextEra Energy Resources, LLC
