Humber River Regional Hospital
Torys acted as counsel to the lenders to Future Health Consortium (Bilfinger Project Investments/SNC-Lavalin), a shortlisted proponent for the Humber River Regional Hospital PPP project to design, build, finance and maintain the construction of a new hospital in Toronto, Ontario.
The new hospital increased capacity from 549 to 656 beds and enabled the hospital to provide a more comprehensive range of acute care services and support for inpatient and outpatient hospital programs. Services and programs include
- expanded emergency services
- increased specialized outpatient services
- modern diagnostic equipment for better patient diagnosis and treatment
- updated infectious disease containment systems to monitor and prevent a broad range of infections
