Overview

Shannon Gotfrit’s practice focuses on corporate law with an emphasis on private equity. Shannon represents fund sponsors on all aspects of the fund formation and capital raising process. Shannon also represents public pension plans and other institutional investors in connection with their investments in private equity, venture capital and hedge funds.

Shannon regularly represents the following investors: Alberta Investment Management Corporation, Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund Board, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, China Investment Corporation, Future Fund Board of Guardians (Australia), Ontario Municipal Employees’ Retirement System, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, OPSEU Pension Trust, The Pension Fund Society of The Bank of Montreal, Public Sector Pension Investment Board, York University Pension Fund and Endowment Fund, as well as other pension fund and sovereign wealth clients in connection with their investments in private investment funds.

Shannon has recently advised clients on their investments in the following funds:

Avenue Special Opportunities Fund II, Bain Capital Europe Fund IV, Bain Capital Fund XI, Baring Asia Private Equity Fund VI, Boyu Capital Fund II, Centerbridge Capital Partners III, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers XVI, Macquarie Infrastructure Partners III, Morningside China TMT Fund III, Vine Media Opportunities Fund III.

She has also worked with Northleaf Capital Partners to establish and raise capital for its global private equity funds, private equity secondary funds, and infrastructure funds.
