Overview

Scott Bomhof specializes in all aspects of corporate restructuring and insolvency, including court proceedings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, plans of arrangement under the Canada Business Corporations Act, sales proceedings, debtor-in-possession/interim financing loans, and receiverships, as well as out-of-court transactions involving negotiated workouts, recapitalizations, debt exchanges, re-financings, distressed investments and acquisitions.  Scott is recognized as a leader in the field of insolvency and restructuring and has been lead counsel on a number of complex Canadian and cross-border proceedings.

Scott has published articles on restructuring and insolvency issues in Canadian Bankruptcy Reports, Credit and Banking Litigation Quarterly and Commercial Insolvency Reporter. He is the author of papers presented to INSOL International, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, Osgoode Hall Law School and the Insolvency Institute of Canada. Scott is the Ontario editor of Commercial Insolvency Reporter.
