Potrero Yard Modernization
Torys is acting as counsel to Potrero Yard Community Partners (Fengate Capital /Emerald Fund/American Triple I Partners) as a shortlisted proponent for the Potrero Yard Modernization PPP project to design, build, finance, operate and maintain a new bus yard and affordable housing project in San Francisco, California.
The project will see the replacement of the obsolete two-story maintenance building and bus yard, located on a 4.4 acre site at the corner of Bryant and Mariposa, with a modern, three-story, efficient bus maintenance and storage garage, equipped to serve the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency’s (SFMTA) growing fleet as it transitions to battery electric vehicles.
In addition to being LEED Gold Certified, another key component of the project is the proposed construction of approximately 560 residential units above the bus facility that would provide both an affordable housing and further land use opportunity for the city.
The project is the first in a series of projects under the SFMTA’s Building Progress Program, a US$1.2 billion multi-year effort to repair, renovate, and modernize aging facilities.
Further information on the project can be found on SFMTA’s website.
