Sheppard Maintenance and Storage Facility
Torys acted as counsel to the lenders to SNC-Lavalin Capital, a shortlisted proponent for the Sheppard Maintenance and Storage Facility PPP project to design, build, finance and maintain a new maintenance and storage facility for light rail vehicles in Toronto, Ontario.
Planned for development on a 32-acre site, the proposed facility was to maintain and service 100 new light rail vehicles operating in connection with the planned Sheppard East LRT and Scarborough LRT projects.
Procurement for the Sheppard Maintenance and Storage Facility was officially cancelled in November 2013, following a resolution by the City of Toronto in October 2013 in which it reaffirmed plans to extend existing subway services to Scarborough over plans for a light rail transit system.
Torys acted as counsel with a team that included Mark Bain and Tara Mackay.
