Antofagasta Hospital
Torys acted as Canadian counsel to FESSA (EllisDon Inc./Empresa Constructora Sigro S.A./Fengate Capital Management Ltd.) as a prequalified bidder for the Antofagasta Hospital PPP project to design, build, finance and maintain a new hospital facility in Antofagasta, Chile.
In addition to the new hospital complex itself, that will have a total area of 114,000 square metres and be fitted with 671 beds spread over 18 wards, the maintenance contract for all non-clinical elements that support the hospital complex, will provide for the provision, replacement and maintenance of medical equipment for 15 years.
The project was Chile's first PPP hospital project.
Torys acted as counsel with a team that included Mark Bain, Tara Mackay and John Tobin.
