Northeast Stoney Trail
Torys acted as counsel to Financial Guaranty Insurance Company as monoline insurer to Stoney Trail Group (Bilfinger Berger Project Investments), the successful proponent for the C$650 million Northeast Stoney Trail PPP project to design, build, finance and operate an 11 km extension of the northeast portion of the ring road around Calgary, Alberta.
This project involved the extension of Stoney Trail eastward from Deerfoot Trail to 17 Avenue SE, and the construction of 21 km of four and six-lane roadway, with 23 bridges and six interchanges. The project also includes the maintenance of Stoney Trail NW from its junction with Deerfoot Trail to 16 Avenue NW.
