Torys recognized at Project Finance Americas Deal of the Year Awards

We are pleased to announce that two projects that Torys has been involved with were recognized at Project Finance’s Project Finance Americas Deal of the Year Awards, held on March 13 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. Both projects and the Torys teams involved are described below.

Ottawa LRT: According to Project Finance, this project “uses a hybrid financing structure and had to overcome challenging construction risks. It is the most complex transport PPP to be procured in Ontario, and marks the debut of light rail transit in Canada’s federal capital, Ottawa.” Torys represented the lenders to Rideau Transit Group with a team that included Mark Bain, Scott Kraag, Tara Mackay, Simon Williams, Sabrina Kumar and Graeme Murray. Goreway Station: Goreway Station Partnership completed an C$832 million refinancing of its existing credit facilities, which were entered into in connection with the construction and operation of the Goreway Station, an 869.8 MW gas-fired, combined cycle power generation facility in Brampton, Ontario. Torys represented the lenders led by TD Bank as the administrative agent with a team that included Jonathan Weisz, Amanda Balasubramanian and Nadine Rockman Katz.
