Advancing major projects in Canada

Established through the Building Canada Act, the federal government’s Major Projects Office (MPO) was created to accelerate major nation-building projects by streamlining regulatory barriers and coordinating financing.

Partner Jeremy Barretto told The Globe and Mail that he sees the MPO taking a low-profile private-sector approach to what have previously been open bureaucratic processes.

“It remains to be seen whether this approach with significant leaders in the private sector working there will result in quicker approvals and more projects built,” he added.
