Four Torys lawyers named among Canada’s Top 100 Women Litigators by Benchmark Litigation

We are proud to announce that partners Gillian Dingle, Anne Merminod, Linda Plumpton and Sylvie Rodrigue, Ad. E. have once again been recognized in Benchmark Litigation’s 2026 Top 100 Women in Litigation guide.

This recognition marks the seventh consecutive year that Linda and Sylvie have been featured, the fifth consecutive year for Gillian, and the second consecutive year for Anne, a testament to their exceptional advocacy, influential leadership and continued impact on the litigation landscape in Canada.

Gillian is co-head of Torys’ Securities Defence practice and is regarded for her strategic counsel in complex securities litigation, class actions and regulatory matters. Combining sharp legal insight with deep knowledge of the capital markets, she advises clients on some of their most high-profile and business-critical disputes. Gillian’s excellence as an advocate has earned her consistent recognition including as Securities Litigator of the Year at the 2026 Benchmark Litigation Canada Awards and from leading legal directories such as Chambers Canada, The Legal 500, Lexpert and Best Lawyers in Canada.

Anne maintains a leading class actions practice focused on product liability, pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, privacy breaches and consumer protection matters, frequently in multijurisdictional contexts. Known for her thoughtful advocacy and leadership in the class actions bar, Anne serves as President and Executive Committee Member of the Class Actions Section of the Canadian Bar Association (Québec Division), Vice-Chair of the International Bar Association’s Class Actions Committee, and President of the Barreau du Québec’s annual National Conference on Class Actions.

As partner and chair of Torys’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, Linda is an esteemed litigator with extensive experience across competition litigation, class action defence, corporate and commercial disputes, and securities litigation. Her distinguished career has been recognized through numerous honours, including the OBA Award of Excellence in Civil Litigation, the Women’s Executive Network’s Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award, the Benchmark Canada Awards’ Ontario Litigator of the Year, and the Canadian Law Awards’ Litigator of the Year Award.

Sylvie leads Torys’ Montréal office and national Class Actions practice and is widely recognized as a leading litigator who is known for delivering strategic, results-oriented advocacy across a broad range of industries. Sylvie’s contributions to the profession have earned her widespread recognition, including being named Litigator of the Year at the Canadian Law Awards, Canadian Product Liability Attorney of the Year at the LMG Life Sciences Americas Awards and Product Liability Litigator of the Year at the Benchmark Litigation Canada Awards.
