Bulletins

Torys regularly publishes bulletins on current legal developments that affect the businesses of our clients. The bulletins are also an important vehicle for keeping our attorneys and summer associates current and for bringing them up to speed quickly on specific topics. Most bulletins and other guides and commentaries produced for clients are available on the firm's intranet, Torysnet, and are fully searchable. Many are also available in the publications section of Torys' website.

To keep you current in your areas of law, the library routes newsletters, services and periodicals on new developments directly to you.

Secretarial Support

You will be assigned a secretary to give you the support you need to do your job. Our Word Processing Center provides extra help during the day and after hours.

Library

Our New York office library is staffed by two full-time librarians. We can help you with all your reference and research requests. We have a relatively large collection for a firm of our size, including New York and federal cases, digests, statutes and regulations. In addition, we have treatises covering all areas of the firm's practice. We will train you in the use of the library materials and online services. Our library in Toronto is staffed by four full-time librarians and a support staff of three, all of whom are able to assist you with reference and research requests in Canada.

Technology

Each student office is equipped with an advanced desktop computer, fully networked, with direct access to the Internet and, through Torysnet, to all online, CD-ROM and Web-based research services, as well as our legal memo and precedent collections. You will receive customized computer training as part of your orientation to Torys.

Email is used extensively for distributing messages, memoranda, bulletins and documents, both internally and to clients. With two tiers of virus protection and software from four different anti-virus vendors, we provide the highest level of virus protection for the firm's data. Each student will be supplied with a BlackBerry while at Torys.

Location

Our New York office is located at 237 Park Avenue, between 45th and 46th Streets (entrance at 466 Lexington), in the heart of midtown Manhattan near Grand Central Station (for easy access to the subway and Metro North trains). We are within walking distance of Times Square, the theater district and Rockefeller Center.
