Practice

Grant Worden's litigation practice focuses on intellectual property law, including patent and trademark litigation. Grant’s practice has an emphasis on pharmaceutical and biotechnology litigation matters. Grant has appeared as counsel before the Federal Court and Ontario courts at trial and appellate levels, as well as before a number of administrative tribunals. Grant also has been counsel in jury trials.

in the Federal Court in Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) proceedings related to pregabalin (Lyrica®)
in a patent impeachment trial in relation to Norvasc®
in the Federal Court in Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) proceedings, including proceedings versus Ranbaxy, ratiopharm, Apotex and Novopharm related to atorvastatin calcium (Lipitor®)
in the Federal Court in Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) proceedings against the Minister of Health relating to the listing of patents on the Patent Register

an international pharmaceutical company in proceedings before the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board
an international manufacturer of systems and components used in oil and gas drilling and production in a claim alleging patent infringement
an international manufacturer in a trademark opposition proceeding before the Canadian Trademark Opposition Board
Proctor & Gamble in the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal in Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) proceedings, against the Minister of Health relating to the listing of patents on the Patent Register
a former employee defending a claim of misappropriation of intellectual property from a life sciences company
