Practice

John Unger has practised exclusively in taxation matters at Torys for more than 25 years. A significant portion of his practice involves the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations and public finance transactions, including real estate syndications, REITs, limited partnership offerings, securitizations and debt and equity offerings. John provides regular tax services to a number of public corporation clients.

Professional Involvement

John has lectured on tax matters in programs run by the Canadian Tax Foundation and by the Law Society of Upper Canada, and at numerous other conferences. He is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
