Lisa has recently been involved in representing

• Canadian corporations in a variety of industries in wrongful dismissal and other employment-related suits, harassment and other internal investigations, human rights applications and workplace safety appeals brought by current and former employees and on other employment-related matters
• the Chiefs of Ontario and Ontario First Nations Limited Partnership in litigation relating to the proceeds of Casino Rama
• a major Canadian energy company in the defence of a proposed class action
• a major Canadian insurance company in complex tax litigation
• a multinational mining company in an international commercial arbitration proceeding under the ICSID rules
• an international telecommunications company in a matter concerning the arbitrability of a dispute under the UNCITRAL rules
• a Canadian manufacturing company in a multi-party product liability action involving claims of negligent misrepresentation and breach of a software license agreement
• the Canadian Civil Liberties Association in its intervention in an appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada concerning freedom of expression

Lisa is a frequent lecturer and skills instructor in the areas of employment and civil litigation, including for the Advocates Society, Canadian Corporate Counsel Association, Lexpert and the Osgoode Professional Development program. She is the co-editor of the Canadian 3rd edition of the Modern Trial Advocacy text which is used in law schools and advocacy programs across Canada. She is a member of the board of directors of Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief (CPAR) and the alumni president of Queen’s University’s Arts and Science Class of 1996.

Lisa has worked in the in-house legal department of a major automotive corporation in Germany and in the Civil Rights and Public Policy Section of UNICEF in New York.

Lisa has some facility in French, Italian and German.
