Practice

Grace Pereira’s practice focuses on advising clients on various tax issues, including in the context of corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, financings, securities issuances and investment funds. Grace also advises taxpayers in disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency and provincial taxation authorities.

Sherritt International in its C$1.6 billion acquisition of Dynatec
PSPIB in its C$2.8 billion acquisition of Retirement Residences REIT

New Flyer Industries in its preliminary filing for C$110 million IDS offering

Professional Involvement

Before joining Torys, Grace practised at another major Canadian law firm. Grace was an instructor of the Advanced Taxation Course at the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law for the 2005 and 2006 winter terms.
