Darryl has recently been involved in representing

• an intervener in the reference to the Supreme Court of Canada on the constitutionality of the proposed national Securities Act
• the Honourable Frank Iacobucci as a provincial government representative in an ongoing dispute with a First Nation regarding forestry-related issues
• an independent adviser to the Prime Minister in relation to issues regarding a commission of inquiry
• a large commercial real estate developer in a successful application under the Partition Act for the sale of a neighbourhood shopping centre with a book value of $12 million
• large institutional and retail brokerage firms in connection with investment disputes and other business tort, contract and employment cases
• large public companies in transactions by assessing risk and exposure from the outstanding litigation of target and other companies
• majority shareholders in the arbitration of an oppression claim
• shareholders in a closely held company involved in a dispute over management and control issues, arising in connection with a share purchase agreement
• a complainant in a dispute over election results
• a Canadian Football League team in a player arbitration matter
• a major insurance company in a class action related to demutualization
• a client in the appeal of a decision affecting her employment insurance claim

Darryl previously served on the Board of Governors of Wilfrid Laurier University.

Darryl received the Jennings Prize from Wolfson College, University of Cambridge, for obtaining first class honours in the LLM program. 

During law school, Darryl competed in the Smith Shield, Dalhousie’s annual in-house moot court competition, for which he was the co-recipient of the Leonard A. Kitz, Q.C. Prize for oral advocacy.
