Ken McCarter is a corporate and commercial lawyer. His practice focuses on corporate law concerning the structure of Canadian multinational corporate groups. Within Canada, he has been involved in a number of complex reorganizations of both the Thomson family holding companies and The Thomson Corporation, which several years ago completed one of the largest mergers in Canada with the merger of Thomson Newspapers and International Thomson.
Outside Canada, Ken’s practice focuses on the financing of major U.S., U.K. and other investments. He is knowledgeable about corporate and tax law in jurisdictions such as the U.S., the U.K., Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Bermuda and the Netherlands Antilles.
Ken is also experienced in the regulation and governance of federal Crown corporations and, in particular, the Financial Administration Act (FAA).
