Emily has recently been involved in representing

• a branch manager in an Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) enforcement action
• a major financial institution in an IIROC enforcement action
• a major pharmaceutical company in a Patented Medicine Prices Review Board hearing on motion to not be added as a party
• a major pharmaceutical company in the judicial review of the Minister of Health’s process in de-listing a patent from the Patent Register
• a major financial institution in the defence of a putative class action regarding alleged breaches of the Employment Standards Act
• a major Canadian insurance company in the defence of a class action arising from its demutualization
• investment advisors defending allegations of negligent advice to corporate executives

As a summer student, Emily was seconded to the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA). While attending law school, she was a senior editor of the Indigenous Law Journal.

Before joining Torys, Emily worked as a judicial law clerk at the British Columbia Supreme Court.
